Biodiesel (BDF) is attracting attention as an alternative fuel for diesel. BDF production device being developed in our laboratory is allowed to circulate the air by an electric pump, this air is fed into the air diffuser ball in the crude BDF at 333〜343K. It becomes small bubbles through the air diffuser ball, and dissipation of methanol occurs. Thereafter, the air is cooled in the cooler and the methanol is recovered. Result of the experiment shows that methanol recovery rate of waste cooking oil and rapeseed oil was more than 90% for both, methanol concentration was significantly lower than the specified value of JIS; however K concentration was above the specified value of the JIS. By catalyzing component was removed by ion exchange resin, glycerin concentration and K concentration of the waste cooking oil and rapeseed oil was significantly lower than the specified value of the JIS standard.
