This study investigated the effects of colored zirconia on the optical properties of all-ceramic restorations. Shades A1 and A4 of veneering ceramics were fired on 3 different colored zirconia discs and optical properties were recorded before and after firing. Transparency parameter (TP) and opalescence parameter (OP) values did not significantly differ between the 3 zirconia core colors with veneering ceramics. However, core color had significant effects on a* value. In conclusion, colored zirconia cores have a significant influence on a* value but not for TP and OP on veneered ceramics A1 and A4.
