The purpose of this study is to clarify what is diversity management from a stakeholder approach. In this approach, the objective of firm is creating value for stakeholders. Stakeholders are real people with names and faces and children. They are complex. Freeman advocates stakeholder theory to avoid the separation fallacy. Stakeholder theory suggests that embracing diversity is a complex and ever-changing challenge. We review some empirical studies on diversity management. Some studies focus on boardroom diversity, and another studies focus on diversity of workplace. Diversity management focuses on both boardroom and workplace. According to stakeholder theory, diverse constituencies of firm share the objective which is creating value for stakeholders.
