Until 2011, the numbers of IPv4 addresses that can be used have almost exhausted. Most providers of Internet services and software vendors have begun to use the next generation technique IPv6 as substitution. Compare to IPv4, the infinite IPv6 address can be assigned to any devices. The various features of IPv6 provide some new functions, such as SLAAC (Stateless Address Auto Configuration), Improved QoS, Security that provided by default, Simple header and mobility supported. In particular, SLAAC mechanism has its significant feature that allows hosts to generate and configure its own IPv6 address for communication. However, this feature has drawbacks in term of security and management in enterprise network. To address this issue and protect sensitive hosts, a host address management approach is needed to block illegal host's access. In this research, we develope and implemented a mechanism for blocking and collecting information of local hosts based on features of Internet Control Message Protocol Version 6 (ICMPv6), which is a companion protocol of IPv6.
