We stadied a new viscous sensor using piezoelectric fiber/ metal multifunctional compound device. The produced viscous sensor is the structure which embedded the piezo electric fiber containing a metal core in aluminum matrices. When aluminum covers a piezo electric fiber, the sensor part is mechanically protected from the outside. Moreover, the aluminum cover is used also as an electrode. The viscous sensor which already embedded two piezo-electric fibers, oscillating excitation and detection, has been studied. Furthermore, by limiting to a use with sources of vibration, such as an engine of a car, the actuator which vibrates into a sensor part becomes unnecessary. The viscosity of a liquid is calculable by resonating a sensor part using the vibration from the outside, and detecting the vibration for the embedded piezo-electric fiber.
