P-32 A fundamental survey on 'home-safety and health' for low-income elderly

The purpose of this research is to understand the current conditions regarding the risk factors that affect the safety and health in the living space of low-income elderly household. The research areas included seven Dongs of Seoul Seongdong-Gu. The data were collected between May 15th to July 28th, 2005. The research subjects were the 183 individuals with 60 years of age or older, among recipients of basic living support, who agreed to home visiting by phone. In conclusion, the quality of life for low-income elderly can be improved by identifying and modifying the risk factors of home-safety and health. Therefore, it is most desirable to practice the health education regarding the risk factors within the household of low-income elderly people centering on the public health centers.
