• This paper examines the reasons for the rising popularity of Jinyong's novels in Japan in the past few years and discusses the cultural significance and impact of this "Jinyong Craze.' It consists of three main parts the making of the Japanese edition, the study of Jinyong in Japan and the byproducts of Jinyong's novels in Japan. Through an investigation of the Jinyong's phenomenon in Japan, it can deepen our understanding of the interplay of different cultural forces such as transnational cultural flows, hybridization. international collaboration, secularization, and localization in the age of cultural globalization. These cultural forces play an important role in incorporating modern meanings and perspectives to Jinyong's novels.
