In this paper, a method is presented to identify the dynamic parameters of the shear building model. This method has features as follows. 1) The manner of setting of initial parameter values does not have any influence on the precision of the solution. 2) The parameters of the every floors can be identified by using this method. 3) The method can be applicable to the model having characteristics of non-proportional damping. The applicability of the methods is studied using the result of the numerical simulation and the scale-model experiment. The investigation results suggest that method has sufficient accuracy and applicability.
