A quantitative analysis was made for four macro-elements, calcium, magnesium, aluminium and iron, in the plant bodies of Homaliadelphus sharpii var. rotundatus growing in two different habitats. The results are shown in table 1; H-A is plants growing on bark of Aesculus turbinata, H-L is those growing on limestone, and "Bark" is of Aesculus turbinata (figures mean percentages of dry weight). Among the four elements, calcium showed the closest correlation in content between this moss and its substrata.
