This paper investigates the methods for setting initial values to the weights of neural networks in evolutionary robotics. Three types of initialization methods are employed, one is the standard random initialization method and the others are based on the feature of output for a node of neural networks according to the input dimensions. Goal reaching problem is employed for a robotics control problem. The results ran contrary to expectations.
