This paper describes a proposal of an equivalent circuit for small solar-cells and its application for a design of high-efficient battery-charging module.A step-up voltage converter placed between a solar-cell and a battery was controlled using pulse duty ratio method.A simple circuit model of a solar-cell was proposed and used to design optimum pulse duty ratio.Whole charging system was simulated,manufactured and experimentally evaluated.Consequently,MIPPT(maximum power point tracking)was almost realized using these methods.To improve design accuracy,the equivalent circuit should be modified to fit actual solar-cell characteristics more precisely.
