Mobile IP keeps connection working when the node away from home. All packets travel from the correspondent node(CN) to the mobile node (MN) via the home agents. So it cause effects of triangle route. Mobile IP has route optimization that allows communicate directly. But with route optimization the CN must remember all the care of addresses for all of its MN. If CN is a big popular servers and a binging cache get large. The CN maybe refuse all route optimization request to keep its costs lower. Therefore this is a cost when MN away from home. If a MN is at home, it gets the benefit. The MN have multiple home agents.
