For practical thermoelectric generation from low-temperature waste heat, efficient heat transfer is needed from fluid heat sources. Here we introduce the innovative concept using artificial composite materials and one of their applications, a tubular thermoelectric generator, in order to overcome limitations of conventional planar devices. We discuss fabrication processes, power generation characteristics, heat-exchange performance, and future prospective.
