• Noh is mainly performed by using the natural light at an outdoor stage and artificial light at a Noh theater, though occasionally by firelights and candlelights. Noh performance harmonizes with these lights. It seems that the light of Noh stage plays significantly an important role to accentuate the architectural beauty of the stage and Noh performance. The purpose of this paper is to consider the light characteristics of Noh stage through the photometric terms such as illuminance and luminance according to several actual measurements.
