This paper examines the trend of students' interest in current social problems by analyzing presentations prepared by students of the humanities and social sciences (SHAKAIKAGAKU2), and investigates the result of class questionnaires concerned. The presentations were intended to raise students' awareness about current social problems. It is important for engineers to voluntarily develop awareness about current social problems. This makes them more responsible members of society. The analyzing showed that the topics of ecology, bioethics, information-oriented societies, and low birthrate interest students. Generally, students pursue topics that are familiar to them or that attract frequent media reportage. And the result of class questionnaires showed improvement of students' voluntary attitude. Thus, we can conclude that students do think about current social problems and that our purpose is practically achieved .
