• Central American region between North and South America continents is natural disaster pron area as well as Japan. Economic and human losses by Hurricanes, floods, landslides, earthquakes, Tsunamis and volcanic disasters are one of the major impediments to the development in Central American region. In 2005, Japan received a request for technical cooperation focusing on capacity development of disaster management in local governmental level and community level from the Central American countries. Due to this request, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been implementing the project "Capacity Development for Disaster Risk Management in Central America "BOSAI"" since 2007 to 2012. This paper introduces the overview of BOSAI project and past activities.
