Many North East Asian Countries have experienced rapid economic growth. Trade between North East Asia and Europe and also between Russia and China has rapidly increased. Mongolian Railway plays an important role in trade with Russia and China and is expected to play a greater role in facilitating trade in future. The authors believe Mongolian Railway will be formulated as a corridor for regional development. This paper has four sections. In Chapter One, the current conditions and future trend of economy and trade in North East Asian countries are studied. It is shown that foreign trade will highly increase in this area. In Chapter Two, transportation routes between North East Asia and Europe are analyzed. Cross border regional development is also reported in this chapter. In Chapter Three, the functions of Mongolian Railway are studied. The Mongolian Railway plays an important role in natural resource transportation from Russia to China. Future possibilities of the role of the railway in North Asia and European trade are also shown. In Chapter Four, possibilities of this corridor for regional development are assessed.
