The study examined 'a good language teacher' is how linguistically constructed by Japanese language major students in People's Republic of China. Narrative discourse was collected from the participants and analyzed by a qualitative method. The result presents constructions of a good language teacher. Good language teachers help and encourage learners and introduce useful leaning strategies to the learners. They also provide leaners environments where the learners can practice using language in more practical settings. Critical aspects of the interpretation is also presented.
