• This research was aimed to compare the reading ability and the listening ability of the kanji characters, in the Intermediate level Japanese language students of Chinese, who learn Japanese language in China. Author carried out a kanji vocabulary test and a listening based Hiragana test of 76 Intermediate level Japanese language students of Chinese. The result shows that there is no direct connection with the reading ability and the listening ability of the kanji characters, and also there was a tendency in making different errors in both tests.
