Emphasizing on language learning strategies, student portfolio, peer learning and self-assessment were introduced into the intermediate conversation class. The results of a survey conducted after the completion of the course show that the language learning strategies are effective on learners. In late fiscal 2011 conversation class, the learner became actively involved in the portfolio through positive feedback by the teacher. This paper suggests the effectiveness of student portfolios and importance of assessment of theportfolio.
