In this paper, the attenuation of the Ka-band frequency during rain is calculated by time-series of measured attenuation data of the Ku-band (JCSAT2A) satellite. The calculated attenuation is compared with the attenuation obtained from the measured time-series data of the Ka-band (WINDS) satellite. Availability of the satellite is found out from both measured and calculated attenuation of Ka-band satellite which exactly coincide with each other. Furthermore, the attenuation of the millimeter wave is also calculated by measured time-series of attenuation data of Ku-band (JCSAT2A) and Ka-band (WINDS) satellites, and availability of the millimeter-wave frequency is estimated from them. Finally, the availability of the satellite is applied to the frequency diversity using a satellite with Ku-, Ka-band and millimeter-wave frequencies.
