All Wrap Around shielded writer with extended write gap is appropriate design for corner writing. Narrower side gap and write gap with wider MP width is direction to achieve higher ADC for SMR. Smaller Micro Track profile Sharpness (MTS) and higher TPI were achieved by improved reader, which can also bring better BPI under fixed TPI condition due to less side reading. → Less side reading reader is one of key technology for SMR. 1.26Tbpsi was demonstrated by optimized AWA shielded writer with less side reading reader.
