The purpose of this study is to examine how the special self-training program impacts to the students' consciousness of the National Occupational Therapy Examination and their knowledge that relates to the National Examination. The program was developed by and conducted at the Department of Occupational Therapy at Teikyo University of Science. In this program, the students inscribed the 50 exam questions and answers, and the commentary to the CD. The materials were selected from the past exam questions and given to the students. Before and after the program, the questionnaires were given to assess the consciousness of the students about national exam. Trial examinations were also conducted to examine the change of students' knowledge. Forty-three students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades of Teikyo University of Science participated to the study. In all grades, the students were thinking that the national exam was "very important", "very difficult, and "requires special study". After the program, the ideas of national exam changed. However, the ways of changes were different in each grade. The percentages of correct answers in the trial exams before and after the program were not significantly different for the first and second year of the students. However, for the third grade students, the percentages were significantly raised after the program. The program had impact to the consciousness of the students toward the national exam. However, it did not directly help to acquire the knowledge to answer the exam questions. Rather, it has a function to raise the awareness of the national exam in the different way in each educational level.
