• The knowledge of the proton structure plays an important role in describing physics at hadron colliders. Much of the information on the parton distribution functions is obtained from the HERA ep collider. In this note the emphasis is made on the last years of HERA operation which has materialized into precise measurements sensitive to proton structure in the high Bjorken-x region, measurement of the gluon density at low x and the decomposition of light-heavy flavor sea quarks.
