In the present paper, the picking-up and placing phases of the motion of multifunction component placement machines in the production of electronic circuit boards are modeled from the point of view of total optimization. Comparison with conventional methods is shown with experimental data. The proposed method, which takes into account nozzle allocation, can also be applied to the load balancing of component placement machine production lines.
