This paper discusses possible interfaces between generative grammar and English education. Generative grammar has provided many "principled" explanations for various linguistic facts aiming at fulfilling the explanatory adequacy (Chomsky 1965) from the perspective of the Principles-and-Parameters theory developed in the early 1980s (Chomsky 1981). Although the core part of the study shifted to such universal linguistic systems as Case theory, B-theory, and binding theory from individual constructions such as passive construction, nevertheless, Haegeman and Gueron's (1999) English Grammar, for example, offers fascinating analyses to many major constructions in English. However, recent development of the theory seems to have brought more difficulty to such rapport between generative grammar and English education. More and more emphasis has been placed on aspects of non-linguistic biological systems in explaining linguistic facts, resulting in the minimization of the role of Universal Grammar in the theory of linguistics. The purpose of this paper is to seek for possible interfaces between generative grammar and English education from the perspective of the Minimalist Program of the linguistic theory as biolinguistics (Chomsky 2005, 2006, 2008). The interfaces may exist outside the domain of Faculty of Language because English education deals with more than I-Language.
