This paper reports about the class activities in the Division of English as a Foreign Language atGeorgetown University. In reading activity. emphasis was placed on fast reading. In writing activity,the students learned how to write an essay or a research paper, especially the organization of a pas sage. transition. and how to use supporting evidence. In listening activity, notetaking was emphasized.As speaking activity. the students did various activities such as discussion. debate. presentation. skitsusing idioms, and practice of pronunciation. ln addition to improving each of the four skills, empha sis was placed on the integration of the four skills. The most important activity of the integration ofthe four skills was a final research project. When the students did their research. they used the Yourskills in the process of collecting information. writing a research paper. and making a presentation.
