This study reconsidered the listener education from a standpoint of the brief-psychotherapy. This program consisted of two parts and focused on active listening skills. The first part employed the structured group encounters, while the second one used role-playing. In the second part, 100 female nurses played roles as a client, a listener, and an observer. The short form of the Active Listening Attitude Scale(ALAS), which distinguished significantly between psychotherapists and laypersons regarding listening skills, was applied to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. The results showed the both scores of The Listening Attitude Scale and The Listening Skill Scale of the ALAS were significantly improved as the level of the therapist and maintained the scores for six months.
