The root of aconite is one of the most important drugs in China and it has various kinds of species in market, though the opinions of their original plant are not still fixed by scientists in all the world. I have compared Aconitum manshuricum, A.,ambiguum, A.macrorhynchum, A.Kusnezoffii, A jaluense, A.arcuatum. A. ciliare, A.Sczukini, A.liaotungense, A.Kitagawai, A.koreanum, collected in Manchuria, A.chinense in Japan and A.Fisheri in Saghalien with Ch'uan-wu, Ch'uan-fu-tzu, Yen-fu-tzu, Ts'ao-wu, Pai-fu-tzu in market and reached to the following result. According to the author's studies, all the above mentioned species are classified in three parts by the arrangement of Xylems, though they have alike resembled appearance. I Part……… A.manshuricum, A.anbiguum, A.macrorhynchum, A.Kusnezoffii, A.jaluense, A.arcuatum, A.ciliare, A.Fisheri. A.chinense, Ch'uan-wu, Ch'uan-fu-tzu, Yen-fu-tzu, Ts'ao-wn. II Part……… A.Sczukini, A.liaotungense, A.Kitagawai. III Part……… A.koreanum, Pai-fn-tzu. These can be finely divided on the following items, viz. (1) root hair of metaderm (2) collenchyma cells in primary cortex (3) stone cells in primary cortex (4) collenchyma cells inside of endodermis (5) stone cels inside of endodermis (6) group of bast fibers and stone cells outisde of phloem (7) cambium (8) pits of vessel (9) stach grains. Considering my study, we have recognised that Aconitum chinense as the original plant of Ch'uanwu, Ch'uan-fu-tzu, Yen-fu-tzu, sold in Manchuria, but on the contrary we can not recognise Aconitum Fisheri as the original one as before, on account of the above item (3) and (6). Ts'ao-wu in Manchuria is a parent root of Aconitum jaluense and A.Kusnezoffii. Pai-fu-tzu is a tuber of Typhonium gigantium(Araceae). The one in Manchuria and Corea is a daughter root of Aconitum koreanum., but the articles treated in Shen-Young are blended with a parent root.
