• The aim of this study is to determine rain intensity and rain attenuation models in Ku-band Satellite in Makassar Area, Indonesia. Some models were used for this study such as Rice-Holmberg, ITU-R, VIHT, Salonen-Baptista, SAM and DAH. The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) data and the NSS 6 satellite were used for this study. The rain intensity model proposed for Makassar Area is the improved Salonen-Baptista Model while for the rain attenuation model proposed is the improved Simple Attenuation Model (SAM).
