My goal for this paper is as follows. I will explain how one can use a combination of teacher and student generated material to teach advanced English communication at the university level without a textbook. I will make evident the advantages of doing so by providing samples of students'work and their feedback on what they experienced throughout the term. I will show how on-going feedback from teacher to student and student to teacher, coupled with studentself-analysis using recorded conversations, can help build a course to a level where the students get what they need in order to improve their current level of English in a measurable way.
