Apel les Fenosa, a 20th century's Spanish sculptor who was active mainly in Paris, created a number of sculptures, notably small sculptures. His belief in creative activities was, "A sculpture must be poetry. It must contain music in it."while associating with Picasso, also Spanish, and some surrealist pets, Fenosa adhered to his own style of expression without blindly affected by the various art movements during the transitional period from the post School of Paris to modern art. Largely in the motif of nature, his works that praise nature and human have an idyllic atmosphere. The key to his sculptural techniques include simplification, anthropomorphism, and extemporization, which result in the world of his expression that is said to stir one's "poetical imagination."
