• Laser beam was oscillated first by T.H.MAIMAN in 1960, before just 50years ago. And nowadays, laser beams are used widely in production fields such as precision instrument and electrical appliance manufacturers, automobile industries, heavy industries and so on. In this presentation, outcomes are shown such as fundamental research works (oscillation characteristics and the quantification, observation of phenomena in the processing, machinability of metals with pulsed YAG laser beams, progress of melt and removed zones, processing mechanism) and application ones (complicate micro-parts of few hundreds micron, welding of magnesium alloys, dissimilar welding and precise cutting of thick plates of 36mm obtained in our laboratory).
