• Now, in design process of industry and in education, the usage of 3D-CAE is general. But the way to use it has some problems. In this paper, the potentialities of 1D-CAE for these problems are proposed.1D-CAE means "making one dimension model abstracted with the physical phenomenon of the object logically and presuming the behavior of the object on the computer". 1D-CAE is expected to help the design with thinking whole product system and interrelation of parts on the upper stage.
