An optically driven actuator and manipulator have some interesting characteristics, such as no generation of magnetic noise and receiving the energy remotely. New methods for optically driving actuators have been proposed in recent years. The optical actuators and manipulators have been succeeded to produce mechanical movement by many ideas. The optical manipulator can control samples and move it in the arbitrary place for 3D fabrication. Moreover a new type of 3D optical movement and magnetic levitation using temperature sensitive ferrites by photo-thermal effect. In this presentation, we review the present situation and future prospects of optically driven actuator. It is applicable to new industry and research area such as a new field of biomedical field, as bio-mechanophotonics.
