• A model of two-layer vortices with opposite signs of rotation in different layers, which are called "vortex charges" or "hetons", is examined on the basis of point-vortex conception and in the framework of the vortex-patch approximation (finite areas with picewise-constant distribution of potential vorticity). Possible approaches to the qualitative analysis of the corresponding dynamic system and visual description of the vortex patches' evolution are developed by example of a vortex structure consisted from two hetons. In particular, there is constructed a new stationary solution of the problem of four vortices in two-layer fluid.
