• In Hachinohe National College of Technology, there had been some students who were unable to get the TOEIC score 400, which they were required to pass before graduation. In order to work out their problems on TOEIC, the staff of the English department of HNCT had worked on tutoring them. Inthis essay some examples of tutoring are introduced to examine what the students have difficulty in and to show the emphasis on vocabulary building as a way to improve their English skill in a limited duration.
