The plastic-waste recycling is roughly categorized into the following three: 1) Material recycle (transforming the waste into pelletized plastic material for molding), 2) Chemical recycle (extruding various chemicals for industrial use from the waste), and 3) Thermal recycle (transforming the waste into fuel). RPF (Refuse Paper and Plastic Fuel) is the pelletized fuel composed with paper-waste and plastic-waste and is categorized into the above 3) Thermal recycle. RPF has been listed as one of the JIS (Japanese Industrial standards) since 20th January 2010 and widely well accepted as useful fuel in the paper manufacturing industry and the caustic lime manufacturing industry for years. RPF well substitutes for fossil fuel and contributes to the reduction of CO_2 emission. The demand for RPF in the industries has been steadily growing in the past few years. This report focuses on the expectation that RPF will play an important role in the green energy policy in coming years.
