We proposed previously an analog motion detection circuit based on the vertebrate retina. The circuit is characterized by the simple structure, low power consumption and high-speed processing. In this study, we proposed an application system using the motion detection circuit and a mobile robot. The test circuit fabricated on the breadboard by using discrete metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) transistors was connected with the microcomputer in the mobile robot. It was clarified from the experimental results that the motion detection circuit can control the mobile robot.
