Mass Spring Models (MSM) are a popular choice for representation of soft bodies in virtual reality applications. In this paper we present some results of numerical tests conducted on materials modeled with mass-spring systems, and investigate how the material properties depend on mass points' distribution, spring properties and spring creation rules. In particular, we compare cubic lattice mass point system and random point distribution system by measuring internal stress and strain distribution for a problem with known analytical solution.
