Universities incorporating interpretation training programs into English curricula are on the rise. The number of universities and graduate schools adopting interpretation training programs has reached 105 (139 courses) now (Someya et. al 2005). However, in these programs, the main tools used by instructors are cassette players and lessons are conducted in conventional language laboratories or in normal classrooms. The percentage of those adapting to Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) system remains low. Interpretation training programs place a heavy emphasis on listening and speaking practices and web-based resources are also utilized, thus a CALL environment is considered desirable. Computer rooms where PC terminals are connected to form a university intranet known as LAN system may be suitable if CALL or multimedia classrooms are not available. In this paper, I shall share my observation gained from some experimental undertakings of organizing an interpretation training program in a computer classroom and shall point out some problems concerning the computer literacy of both students and teachers, as well as concerning students' English language competence. By referring to the case study, I shall propose a new methodology and orientation toward the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a language classroom.
