The boron content of atmospheric fallout ignited was determined by the extraction followed by spectrophotometry. The relationship between boron content and wind direction, rainfall, calcium and magnesium contents was investigated, and the following results were obtained: (1) The boron content is greater with a northerly wind blowing than with a southerly wind. (2) The boron content is inversely proportional to rainfall. (3) The boron content is pro- portional to calcium content. (4) The boron and calcium contents are high from late autumn to winter, and low from summer to early autumn. (5) The boron content of atmospheric fallout ignited is related to the amount of illite in it.
