Resources would be defined as "something such as useful land, or minerals such as oil and coal, that exists in a country and can be used to increase its wealth". In this paper, the author focused on the resources relating to the geotechnical engineering. Solid wastes should be considered as the useful materials by improving their properties, and construction waste and surplus soils are also effectively used as the geo-materials. Urban mine, methane hydrate, and oil shale are something remarkable new resources, and the author emphasizes that their geo-environmental effects shall be clearly shown at the usage process.
