高度情報化時代における国際商社機能 : 総合商社の"CALS"対応力

The newly Industrial Revolution has come along with progress of the highly developed information network. It affects the industrial structure on a global scale, the status of the world trade, and the function of international trading firms represented by Sogo Shosya. For the present, it may be useful to look more closely at some of the features in the limits and the birth of Sogo Shosya's function. "CALS" generally means "Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support", and/or "Commerce At Light Speed". Moreover, in the broad sense of the word, "CALS" includes the concept of CE, VC, EI, EC and so forth. In this paper, the writer will use the term "CALS" to refer to the highly developed information network which integrates above mentioned concepts. It is typical of Sogo Shosya to act as go-between in the distribution network that has joined together manufacturers, materials suppliers and products users. In an era of "CALS", however, some conventional type of functions of Sogo Shosya shall not be appraised in multi-media society. Sogo Shosya, therfore, has been driven by necessity to create their new function for contributing some to added value. In this paper, from the future oriented view, the writer may suggest some newly possible function that might be brought up by Sogo Shosya.
