Ecological models in urban geography

The process of urbanization has many aspects: spatial, economical, social,psychological and so on. The spatial aspect of it, however, is inherent to the geographical discipline. According to Abler et al. (1971), our interest in distributions is always focused on their spatial structures and the processes which produce these structures. Therefore the author will try to review some models of the spatial processes of urbanization to clarify some problems in model building. Firstly the author will refer to the economic base models, and secondly to the ecological models, especially factorial ecology. Finally the author will introduce the ecological analogue model of spatial processes.
