The purpose of the paper is to show the research activities for the receivers/reactors of "solar thermal" hydrogen production and power generation in Korea. Since the end of 20th century, Korea has paid attention to development of high temperature solar thermal systems. Although Korean solar energy resources are not very good, it is still possible to export the technologies developed to other countries which have sufficient solar energy resources. The high temperature solar thermal systems which have been researched in Korea are PTC (Parabolic Trough Concentrator), dish-type, and power tower. It can be said that the technologies for PTC and dish-type systems have been developed and the solar power tower technology are being developed. These researches are mainly performed by Korean Institute of Energy Research (KIER), and a few other research groups including Inha University are working together. In this paper, the researches for the receivers of the high temperature solar thermal systems in Korea are introduced. In addition, solar chemistry research in Korea, which is prosperous research area for hydrogen production, is introduced.
