This work considers numerical computation of a steady solitary wave produced by pressure forcing with fully nonlinear free surface condition. It may be remarkable that, when the wave amplitude is small, it is hard to get accurate solutions using some standard computational methods due to singularities at physical infinities. In order to surmount this difficulty, the flow field is mapped into the regularized coordinates in which these singularities are removed. Numerical examples show that the proposed computational method can produce accurate enough solutions. In addition, it is shown that these singularities at physical infinities also play a key role in linear stability analysis for this steady solution.
