Aerodynamic characteristics of NACA0012 airfoil are simulated by two dimensional direct numerical simulation at the chord based Reynolds number 10,000, 30,000, 50,000[-]. We investigates influence of vortex trajectory and its circulation on the lift and drag fluctuations. There are two types of vortex. One has clockwise rotation near a separation bubble, the other has counter-clockwise rotation near the trading edge. The clockwise vortex induces a suction region on the upper airfoil surface when it moves downstream. When there are two clockwise vortices on upper surface simultaneously, the lift and drag have maximum values. On the other hand, when there is counter-clockwise vortex at the trading edge and two clockwise vortices downstream, the lift and drag have minimum values.
