In this work, the fluttering of a turbulent two-dimensional jet is controlled in phase by minute sound-wave disturbance from a loud speaker perpendicularly directed to the jet exit. To separate the turbulent disturbances and the fluttering modes, three-component velocity decomposition is applied for the Navier-Stokes equation, and then the governmental equations for time- and phase-averaged one point velocity correlations. These equations include three kinds of production terms which show quantity transfer from the mean velocity field to the phase-averaged velocity field, the mean velocity field to the turbulent disturbance and from the phase-averaged velocity field to the turbulent disturbance. These values are estimated by X-type hot wire measurements but they do not give extra information about turbulence generation if they average in time. In the phase-averaged field, however, they clearly display the turbulent generation in the phase-averaged shear layer. This indicates that the fluttering modes play an important role in the turbulent generation in the two-dimensional jet.
