The equations of sgs kinetic energy and viscous dissipation rate for flow within plant canopies were derived from Navier-Stokes equation. Modeling of the sgs kinetic energy equation was tried, by considering how each term in the sgs kinetic energy equation worked respectively and how the surface integral terms effected in the equation of sgs viscous dissipation rate. The one-equation LES model proposed in this paper was compared with the other existing models for flow within plant canopies. The wake production terms was derived analytically in this work, though the term was neglected in many other models. The wake dissipation term did not appear in the present model, although the term was added to the equation of sgs kinetic energy in the other models.
